Pai Gow Poker is a modern game with old origins. Based on the ancient Chinese tile game and the modern American adaptation of poker, Pai Gow poker marries the east with the wild west in a great game for early level players.
Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the player vs. the casino, unlike most other poker games that players wager with other gamblers. By competing against the dealer, starting players do not need to be concerned about other, more advanced players taking their mulla.
An additional Pai Gow advantage is the relatively slow game play, beginners should be able to take their time and scheme while not having to make quick selections.
It is also easier to enjoy for a long time with basically a small bit of cash since, to not win, each of your hands has to be under both of the dealer’s hands.
Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the familiar 52-card basic deck and one joker. The player is given 7 cards face up and the dealer gets 7 cards face down.
One 5 card hand and a two card hand need to be put together from the seven cards, the five card hand has to be higher than the 2 card hand. To succeed, a player needs both of his hand totals to be higher than the casino’s.
